The main idea of the family exchange program  came out in May 2014 at one of the YPBOL camps in Italy, when Hungarians invited young people from Italy to spend 1 week holiday in their country with host families. Parents expressed also interest to join.

FORMER EXPERIENCES

 

In the last 25 years our partner organization United Games International has organized numerous youth and family exchange program internationally. The experiences were very positive and families enjoyed very much the opportunities to travel a spending time with host families.

 

GOALS AND BENEFITS OF THE PROJECT

 

The Family Exchange Programme (YREP) is based on the cooperation between YPLN internationally.

The benefits of this program can be:

for YPLN

  • to attract families to travel to partner countries

  • to get assistance and support for YPLN projects

for traveling (guest) families

  • to have the opportunity to travel the cheap way and get to know new people,

  • to experience famous sights in another country to experience their way of living (food, hospitality),

  • to understand the culture and habit of the country.

for the host families

  • to get to know new people from around the world,

  • to start international friendship with citizens from other countries,

  • to share the environment, culture and joy with others,

  •  

HOLIDAY PLAN OF THE FHEP

  • Coordination

  • The family exchange program will be coordinated by the local YPLN coordinators. They will negotiate with the counterparts about dates, number of families, hosting facilities, programs etc. They will check if all the promises will be kept and they will be always there to help to overcome barriers.

  • Period of the exchange program:

  • The exchange program can last 1 or 2 weeks.

  • Number of a family

  • Families can decide, how many members they would involve to travel, The same number of member they should to host afterwards.

  • Registration

  • Each host and guest family should fill an application form, with all details about their opportunities and wishes.

  • Language knowledge

  • For the exchange program we don’t require any knowledge of another language. But it would be good if someone in the family has a basic knowledge in English or  in one of the other world languages.
